Milkshake on Arthur Avenue

20140702-161420-58460065.jpg

So today was a scorcher and trust me when I say this, the milkshakes from Simon’s Deli on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx never fail to cool me down. Of course, being a crazy Oreo fanatic, I had to get the cookies and cream milkshake but they have so many different flavors, including (but not limited to) Oreo [obviously], Nutella, and Snickers! If you are ever in the area, GO! And no, they are not paying me to advertise their store, I’m just a regular customer for these delicious milkshakes.

Rainbow Italian Ice on the Brooklyn Bridge

20140621-205315-75195667.jpg

Today I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. One of the many things I have always wanted to do. The view was absolutely breathtaking but I would say to watch out for the bikers because they ride fast and they’re very aggressive. They have their own side of the pathway but they still manage to be rude to the pedestrians. Regardless! It’s a definite must. If you live in the area and haven’t gone, you really should. It’s great exercise and an even better view!

Here’s an easy Italian Ice recipe:
Ingredients:
3 cups halved strawberries or chopped pineapple
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions:
Blend the fruit, sugar, honey, and lemon juice with 2 cups ice in a food processor or blender until chunky.
Add another 1 cup ice and blend until completely smooth.
Pour mixture into shallow baking dish and freeze for 30 minutes.
Scrape ice with fork until slushy, then freeze until firm (approx. 2 more hours).
Scoop into paper cups to serve.

Chocolate Croissant in Chelsea

Chocolate Croissant in Chelsea

After my internship today I just had to make a Starbucks run. Not because I wanted a frappaccino, or even a latte for that matter, but because I was craving chocolate and I am absolutely obsessed with their warm, flaky chocolate croissants. I strongly recommend getting one, chocolate croissants at Starbucks cost $2.95 and I promise you will not regret a single penny spent.

Naked Juice on Fashion Avenue

Naked Juice on Fashion Avenue

It was a cloudy day in New York and with everyone taking the train and subway to work at the same time this morning, it was pretty hectic. But nothing like a little nudity to keep a fast-paced morning feeling calm, cool, and collected. And by nudity I mean Naked juice. Sips of this Berry Blast smoothie are enough to make any bustling morning feel relaxing.

Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich at the Flea Market

Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich at the Flea Market

Today at the Brooklyn Flea Market they had so much food, but my favorite food choice was, by far, this Nutella, hazelnut, and chocolate chip cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream from The Good Batch stand. Such a good end to a hot day of bargain shopping.
